Power to Spare

By January 29, 2024No Comments

Life can be overwhelming! We have more coming at us each day than we can handle. Our struggles to change our inadequacies and character failings often frustrate and leave us wilting. But there is good news. When we give our lives to God, His power comes to reside in us. When I say power, I mean massive power. Ephesians says it is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. (Eph 1:19-20, NLT)  That’s a lot of power! The word “power” in Greek is “dunamis” from which we get the word dynamite. God’s dynamite is in us ready to be ignited! The key to that ignition is our calling on, believing, and trusting in the power of God within us.

Where do you need God’s dynamite in your life? Is there a problem too big for you to handle? Does a friend need strength from you that you do not feel you possess? Do your prayers feel powerless? Are you discouraged, fearful, burned out? His power, which calmed the sea, healed the leper, opened the eyes of the blind, lives in you. His power, which comforts the grieving, loves the unlovable, and strengthens feeble knees lives in you. Will you, will I, trust in Him who desires to do “immeasurably more that we can ask or imagine”?
