We are close to the end of our year together in Mentoring. I want to give a final encouragement that if you have not worked on Discovering Your Life Mission, you still have time. It’s time to live missionally.

Over this year, I have heard numerous stories and seen with my own eyes the tremendous potential within this group that has been a part of Mentoring this year. But potential must be realized. Lack of clarity is one of the greatest deterrents that keep us from living into our potential.

Life Mission is not about finding our glory.

It is about finding our place of impact, our place of service. In doing so, we also find our place of joy. Too many people assume that because their mission is not obvious, it must not exist. This is simply not true. Our purpose resides deep within us and surfaces only as we choose to do the hard work of discovery.

When this Mentoring year is over – after our final celebration on May 18 – our schedules will go back to normal and we risk forgetting what we have learned. Not only do we risk forgetting what we have learned we also risk not living what we have learned.

The hope from this year is that your time with Mentoring will serve as a catapult launching you to higher places and healthier places.

The hope is that new habits, a new vision for deeper relationships, and a clearer sense of God’s call on your life, will leave you permanently changed.

Finally, I want to give you one last encouragement. Write down three specific things that you have learned from this year. Commit to making these an ongoing part of your life. Let me throw out a few that you can consider:

  • Begin journaling.
  • Commit to a morning routine.
  • Find a peer mentor to continue meeting with after we finish.
  • Practice the Sabbath.
  • Leave your phone in another room during meals.
  • Stop a destructive habit.
  • Read one passage of Scripture deeply each day.

These are only a few.

Thanks for being a part of this Mentoring year. It’s been a blast! Let’s strive to live missionally!

  • Good day! I could have sworn I’ve visited this website before but after looking at a few of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Regardless, I’m definitely pleased I discovered it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back regularly!
